EDCB
The competition is open to students of dance conservatories and professional ballet schools from all over Europe from 12 years of age up to graduation.
The aim of the competition is to become a platform for discovering, supporting and promoting the artistic potential of each participant far beyond the competition itself. With an equal opportunity for talent and diligence to be recognised, all contestants can gain valuable experience, contacts and friendships, as well as an engagement with the NdB2 company, in addition to competition prizes.
Participants compete in front of an international jury.
Competition prizes
Grand Prix Award
Annual contract in junior ensemble NdB 2 (value 300,000 CZK / 12,000 Euros)
First prize
Three weeks with the National Theater Ballet 2 (June 29 – July 19, 2026): study stay at the professional ballet company’s facilities, ballet lessons at the National Theater, accommodation provided)
Second prize
Two weeks with the NdB Ballet 2 (June 29 – July 11, 2026): study stay at the professional ballet company’s facilities, ballet lessons at the NdB, accommodation provided)
Third prize
One week with the National Theatre Ballet 2 (June 29 – July 4, 2026): study stay at the professional ballet company’s facilities, ballet lessons at the National Theatre Brno, accommodation provided)
Other prizes
2 x free participation in the Jiří Bubeníček Ballet Masterclasses (July 27 – August 9, 2026)
One-week free training courses at the Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin (travel, meals, and accommodation are the expense of the scholarship winner)
2 x free stay at a summer dance camp in Vysočina (for more info see here)
